Our Story Begins Here
❊ Our Story
Welcome to GiRLYPOPS.
This little space was born from a truth we just couldn’t ignore: growing up is actually hard. Especially when the world around you doesn’t give straight answers, makes everything awkward, or skips the stuff that really matters.
From periods and puberty to friendship drama, identity, and the whole “what even is happening to my body?” chaos, it’s a lot. And too often, girls are left navigating it alone, confused, or ashamed.
At GiRLYPOPS, we said “nope” to that.
We create workshops where girls feel safe to ask questions, share stories, laugh, cry, and walk out feeling stronger, smarter, and seen. No shame. No judgement. Just the real talk they should be getting.
Created for Girls. Backed by Heart. Built by Lauren.
Meet the Girl Behind GiRLYPOPS
Lauren didn’t set out to be the face of GiRLYPOPS. In fact, she nearly stayed anonymous. But the truth is, this whole movement started from her heart — as a teacher, a mum, and someone who’s seen firsthand how young girls struggle through this messy, beautiful stage of life.
After years of watching students (and her own daughter) feel overwhelmed by body changes, big feelings, and confusing messages, Lauren saw the gap — in schools, in friendships, even at home — where proper conversations just weren’t happening.
So she created GiRLYPOPS: the space she wished she had growing up.
A place where no question is too weird, no moment is too awkward, and no girl is ever made to feel like her story doesn’t matter. Because every girl deserves the words, tools, and confidence to own who she is — proudly, loudly, and without apology.
Lauren Carter — Teacher, Mum, Creator of the Movement
Why we exist
We’re here for the girl who feels too shy to raise her hand.
We’re here for the one googling questions she’s too embarrassed to ask.
We’re here for every girl who deserves more than outdated info and silence.
GiRLYPOPS is about growing up, together. It’s about turning confusion into confidence, awkward into empowering, and girlhood into something to be proud of.
This is more than just education. It's a safe place, a community, and a go to guide for every girl finding her way.

I just listened to Episode One of the GirlyPops podcast and I’m honestly blown away. It’s engaging, informative, and packed with relatable, age-appropriate content that’s perfect for the students I teach. As a teacher preparing to cover puberty and health this term, the podcast gave me fresh ideas, helpful language, and a deeper understanding of how to approach these topics in a way that feels real and respectful to students. You can tell how much time, effort, and thought went into creating this, it’s such an incredible resource for educators, parents, and teens alike. I’ll definitely be recommending it to my colleagues!

As a mum of two pre-teen girls, I cannot express how grateful I am for the GirlyPops podcast. Episode One struck the perfect balance between being fun, honest, and genuinely educational. It’s exactly the kind of resource I’ve been looking for, something that speaks their language, answers their questions, and makes them feel seen and understood. Puberty can be such an overwhelming topic to navigate as a family, but this podcast opens the door to those big conversations in a way that feels safe, supportive, and empowering. I’ll be listening right alongside them each week!

I’m loving GirlyPops on TikTok and Insta! Their posts are super real and funny but also lowkey super helpful about periods, puberty, and all the awkward stuff no one really talks about. It’s like having a big sis who gets you and doesn’t make it weird. I’ve learned so much just from scrolling through their content, and it honestly makes all the confusing stuff about growing up way easier to understand.
